This 'Super Michael Pres' street art is a little bit amazing

It was made to celebrate Michael D’s visit to see the Queen – but has already been taken down.

THIS RATHER GOOD street art appeared in Stoneybatter, Dublin recently.

It depicts Super Michael Pres. Yes, that’s Michael D lovingly rendered in the style of Super Mario Bros.

In the background lurks Bono. (Or rather, the little cloud guy from Mario with Bono perched on his head.)

There’s also Queen Elizabeth as the Princess, and a Queen’s Guard as Toad.

On The Batter, the definitive source for all things Stoneybatter, reveals that the pieces are the work of local artist Shota Kotake who made them to celebrate the President’s historic State visit to the UK.

However, they’ve already been taken down (long before Higgins’ visit on April 8) after a local resident made a complaint.

The same fate befell Kotake’s last work, this memorable contribution to the area. He is now looking for a new home for his work.
