Tubridy mortified Michael Fassbender on the Late Late last night

Ghosts of actings past were flying everywhere.

FINALLY, AT LONG last, the Irish public got what it wanted and deserved. The Late Late Show interview Michael Fassbender recorded a couple of weeks ago was finally broadcast into the country’s living rooms to one giant collective swoon.

Fassy was joined by Frank co-star Domhnall Gleeson and director Lenny Abrahamson, but it was the Oscar-nominated Kerry lad that got the brunt of the mortification.

First up was the revival of THAT Mastercard ad. You know, this one:

Tubs wasn’t too flattering about it, saying

You spend a lot of time looking around, I don’t know if it was your biggest acting gig.

His reaction was a mixture of embarrassment and pride. We’re going with the latter.

When Lenny talked about casting Michael Fassbender because of his ‘real voice’ showed clip singing The Beatles Twist and Shout on the show in 2010.

His reaction was a little less proud.

If that wasn’t enough, his fourth class school teacher was in the audience, prepared to spill the beans on baby Fassbender.

How was young Michael in fourth class?

He was charming, a beauty, and very bright, and very popular. He got into trouble like the rest, but that rogueish smile he has he never got into trouble because of it.

OK, OK, behave.

Sure look, even his most embarrassing moments are better than many’s best.
