Williams received just $1,000 while Wahlberg made $1.5 million from re-shooting the film.

MANY PEOPLE WERE extremely surprised that Ridley Scott decided to cut Kevin Spacey from a major role in the movie ‘All The Money In The World’ just weeks before the film’s release.

Many scenes had to be re-shot and the deadline for the release was extended, which was an expensive move, but one that was more cost-effective than dealing with people boycotting the movie when it was eventually released.

However, now we’re seeing where the filmmaker saved some cash on the re-shoot.

USA Today revealed that three people familiar with the situation, who aren’t allowed to publicly speak about it, told the news website that Michelle Williams received just $80 per day on set during the re-shoot, while Mark Wahlberg received $1.5 million in total. Michelle Williams was not told how much Wahlberg was paid for the re-shoot.

In December, Ridley Scott had spoken to USA Today, telling them that the re-shoot was “not as expensive as you think. Because all of them, everyone did it for nothing.” Christopher Plummer, who replaced Kevin Spacey in the movie was paid, but Scott said that he and Michelle ‘did it for nothing’.

Now it has emerged that Wahlberg’s agency William Morris Endeavor negotiated a hefty fee of $1.5 million for the re-shoot, without bringing it to Michelle’s attention. Interestingly, Michelle is represented by the very same agency. Probably not for much longer, after this.

Michelle said that when the re-shoot was announced, she was so appreciative of Ridley’s gesture that she said:

I’d be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me.

The re-shoot cost $10 million in total. Wahlberg probably isn’t stuck for cash either, as he was named the highest-paid actor of the year by Forbes in August 2017.

People on Twitter had plenty to say about the whole situation.
