Mickey Finns is the most nostalgic Irish drink and the world needs to know about it

Transport yourself back to a simpler, more sour time.

IT WAS THE premier alcoholic drink of many an 18th birthday party around Ireland – and it’s still going strong.

The fact that it clocks in at just 15% alcohol meant it was perfect for such occasions.

And it certainly brings out the session nostalgia when seen today

Of course, the Dublin-made liquor’s most famous iteration is the green apple version – but other flavours listed reveal a delightful theme:

  • Sour Irish Green Apple
  • Sour Raspberry
  • Sour Blueberry

The sour is strong in Mickey Finns – and you could certainly taste it.

We all look back on the Mickey-Finns-Gaff-Party era in our lives with affection

It was the best of times

It was mostly consumed in shot form

But full glasses were known to be brought out from time to time.

Their slogan was iconic

“You can’t HANDLE the fruit” – Jack Nicholson.

Some poor naysayers out there just didn’t get to experience it at the correct moment in their life

Away with your objectivity.

It was like alcoholic apple drops in a glass

You could only really get it in Ireland and the UK – so teenagers around the world don’t get to enjoy that… distinctive taste.

For shame

It’s just one of those things you have to experience for yourself – for better or worse
