YESTERDAY, THE CENTRAL Statistics Office released information on the most popular baby names in the country.

Jack and Emily remained the most popular baby names in the country, although a number of decidedly hipster baby names crept into the top 100. (Fiadh, anyone?)

Interestingly, the Central Statistics Office also released data on the top 10 surnames of babies registered in Ireland last year.

The data shows that there 22,090 unique surnames registered in Ireland last year, while the top 10 surnames accounted for 7.4% of all births.

Here they are in descending order.
