A massive mural of Stormzy has gone up in Smithfield to welcome him to town
RAPPER STORMZY IS taking the music industry by, er, well, storm.
The London rapper is playing the Olympia theatre tomorrow, to a sold out crowd.
In honour of his arrival, this amazing mural has appeared in Smithfield overnight
It’s located at Haymarket, off the square, by a group called Subset.
They told 98fm news that they simply installed the mural because they all think “he’s a complete boyo”, and hope he will stop by tomorrow to see it himself.
It’s getting tons of praise on social media
What a welcome to Ireland, eh?
It’s based on a still from the musician’s video, Shut Up.
Youtube Youtube
And all the effort wasn’t lost on the man himself
He tweeted the photo, and thanked the artists on Facebook.
What a welcome.
Stormzy is also set to headline the Friday night of Longitude in Marlay Park in July.
