Contestants on last night's University Challenge completely flunked the pop music round
WATCHING UNIVERSITY CHALLENGE typically inspires feelings of inferiority and mild stupidity. Except, that is, when it comes to the popular music round at which University Challenge contestants are notoriously bad.
Case in point: this guy confusing Titanium with Disturbia.

But even that is forgivable.
Last night, however, things reached a new low when London School of Economics completely flunked the round, mistaking Pixies for Arctic Monkeys and Ian Dury for Pet Shop Boys.
First, there was outrage.
There was amusement.

There was horror.
Finally, there was smugness. So much smugness.
Smug, smug, smug.
