Dublin radio listeners outraged over the inclusion of Beyoncé on icon list
DUBLIN RADIO STATION Phantom 105.2 IS currently running down a list of 500 musical icons. They asked their listeners for their top five musical icons of all time, and used those contributions to form the list.
This morning, numbers 166 to 161 were revealed, and sitting at number 162, as bold as brass, was Beyoncé.
The station’s Facebook fans appear to be outraged that a woman whose 16 year career has resulted in over 180 million records sold and 17 Grammy awards managed to make it onto the list.
Gary wasn’t the only one to resist either.
When asked for comment*, Beyoncé had this to say.
*We didn’t ask her for comment.
UPDATE: Phantom 105.2 have gotten on to us, and you’d all better batten down your hatches.
