SO, THE FINAL of this year’s Great British Bake Off hit BBC One tonight, and it was as drama-filled as you would expect.
We had three finalists left in – Nadiya, Tamal and Ian and they went through the ringer for us.
Early on, the innuendo was out in force as you would expect
And this week’s technical challenge required the making of rough puff pastry
NEVER.
Tamal was looking a little stressed at the thought of having to do a pastry challenge again
And Nadiya was worried about her maths skills
It seemed that poor Ian was the forgotten man of the final
As we moved into the showstopper, the tension was seriously high
Tamal’s showstopper was probably the most, eh, interesting
Could it bring him glory?
Paul was keeping an eagle eye on everything
The tension just kept rising
And Ian got a little bit emotional when talking about how far he has come
His showstopper was well received by the judges
Paul Hollywood even named it ”one of the best carrot cakes I have ever had”
High praise indeed.
Could he be putting together a late run?
It was getting a bit much at this stage
And the winner was finally announced… and it was the people’s favourite Nadiya
YES.
It got everyone a little teary eyed
Nadiya collected her prize and things got a little bit emotional for her as well
And the plaudits kept coming
Well done Nadiya.
That was only a little emotional.
