IT WAS A PANTS PARTY, and everyone was invited.
Yesterday was not only the 12th of January – it was the 13th annual No Pants Subway Ride.
Organised by comedy group Improv Everywhere, the first No Pants Subway Ride was held in 2002 with only seven participants.
Last year, 4,000 people in New York alone shed their pantaloons to ride the subway. According to Improv Everywhere, this year the event spread to 60 cities in over 25 countries.
The aim is to act like everything is perfectly normal, and not acknowledge any other pantsless subway-riders. Why? For the lols of course!
It seems that you’re permitted to only take your pants off when you get to the subway station, which is a clever move. It’s cold out there.
Should a No Pants Luas Ride be organised for 2015? Anyone?
