Richard Boyd Barrett just 'dabbed' in the Dáil...

Oh yes he did.

SOMETIMES IT FEELS like our politicians are just out to mortify us.

This happened in the Dáil earlier… Richard Boyd Barrett DABBED.

Give us strength.

He explains:

When kids are trying to make a positive statement on the street they do a thing called the dab.

I don’t know what it means, but we need to learn what it means.

Jesus, BB just look on Know Your Meme.

The dance is said to originate in the Atlanta hip-hop scene, but was recently made popular by Carolina Panthers NFL quarterback Cam Newton, who used it to celebrate a touchdown.

As Sports Illustrates puts it:

The dance is pretty simple; one leans in to their elbow like they’re sneezing.

It quickly took over the internet, and now it’s taking over our Dail. Is nothing sacred?

In fairness to Barrett, he did the dab in the context of the fact that politicians must learn to listen to young people and begin to ‘speak their language’.

Well, it’s a start.
