LOOK, NOBODY REALLY wants to think about their mam getting the ride, but it’s very likely that she is.

And now, new research suggests that she’s damn well enjoying it too.

Here’s the evidence:

• Almost 60 per cent of women over sixty who are married or cohabiting are going at it.
• Of the women surveyed (aged between 24 and 84) relationship satisfaction and communication matters more than age when it comes to having good sex.

• Women who are married or living with someone have eight times more sex.
• The mean age of sexually active women is 51.8 years.

• “Among women who were romantically partnered, the prevalence of sexual activity was high, even for women in their 70s and 80s”.
• Older women “recalibrate” for physical changes (by ramping up emotional closeness, or using other, ahem, aids) to maintain sexual satisfaction as they age.
