American figure skater performs Riverdance on ice at national championships
FIGURE SKATING IS not such a big deal here in Ireland, but in the U.S. it’s a big money sport.
19-year-old Jason Brown is one of the big rising stars of American figure skating and this week he competed in the National Championships to qualify for a place on the National Team which will represent the country at the Sochi Olympics.
What did he do to ensure his place? Riverdance on ice of course!
Brown comes from a Jewish background, but clearly he wanted the luck of the Irish to get him to victory on this occasion.
It worked, he came second in the national competition, earning his place in Sochi.
