Oxegen music festival will not take place this year
MUSIC FESTIVAL OXEGEN will not be taking place this year, organisers have confirmed.
The festival was first held in 2004, and after a brief hiatus in 2012 returned in 2013.
Organisers MCD are citing financial demands as well as a lack of suitable acts.
In recent years the festival has targeted a younger audience with dance artists, in contrast to arts festival Electric Picnic which is confirmed to be taking place in autumn.
A short statement reads:
Calvin Harris, David Guetta, and Example headlined last year’s festival.
In 2011, 90 people were arrested and over 300 drug seizures took place at the festival, and five were injured in a tent slashing incident.
