THE LAST EVER episode of Parks and Recreation airs in the US tonight.
After seven seasons Leslie, Ben, Ron, Andy, April and the gang are leaving us forever.
Never got into it? It’s not too late you know. DVDs and Netflix are our friends.
Here’s why you’re a fool if you resist…
Chris Pratt as Andy Dwyer is one of TV’s great comedy characters
He’s more than just a Guardian of the Galaxy you know. Chris Pratt’s big break came as goofy and loveable Andy Dwyer.
Pratt wasn’t even supposed to be kept on after season one, but he played the character so well that he was written into the second season.
Chris Pratt’s improvised scenes
Pratt’s improvisation is nigh on legendary.
Exhibit A:
Exhibit B:
Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope is Amy Poehler at her best
Poehler plays dedicated public servant and Parks Department cheerleader Leslie Knope. It’s tricky to think of an episode where she isn’t on top form.
Galentine’s Day
This past 13 February you may have seen many many articles about Galentine’s Day. It’s a fictional holiday dreamt up by Leslie Knope to celebrate the women in her life.
Hey, we even got on board.
Supporting characters like Jean Ralphio
Jean Ralphio and his sister Mona Lisa are the WOOOOOOOORST.
(But really, they’re the best)
Ron Swanson
Ron’s love for bacon, whiskey and playing the sax, and his hatred of government and technology, makes him the perfect antidote to/best friend for Leslie Knope.
The Snakejuice episode
Drunk Parks and Rec is the best Parks and Rec.
You need to get past season one
The West Wing, The US Office, Star Trek: The Next Generation – all hugely successful TV shoes which suffered from an average enough first season and then went to to produce greatness.
Parks and Rec can also be considered in this category. So if you’ve tried season one and given up… TRY AGAIN.
