Pat Kenny has a support line for listeners lost without him

It’s called Pat Support. This is not a joke.

PAT KENNY NOW has a support line for confused radio listeners seeeking his new show.

Producers at Newstalk, where Pat will start in his new mid-morning slot next Monday, have set up facilities to assist baffled audience members who are unable to find the independent station on their dials.

Pat announced the move in a YouTube video (we know! First Twitter and now this) , saying:

You may know somebody who’s having difficulty in tuning in. If so, we’ve launched Pat Support [...] and we will help you to find the relevant frequency in your area.

You can actually ring a number for support – although all you get is a recorded message saying “Thanks for calling Pat Support at Newstalk” and a place to leave your query.

But enough of our yakking – here’s the man himself:

The move is part of the Move The Dial campaign, which the station hopes will attract listeners whose radios have been tuned to RTÉ Radio One since Ryan Tubridy was only a glint in his mother’s eye.

But do people really need a helpline to retune their radios?
