PATRICK STEWART HAS only gone and tied the knot.
Stewart married his girlfriend of 5 years, singer-songwriter Sunny Ozell yesterday, while good friend and fellow actor Ian McKellan officiated the ceremony.
While there’s probably no OK! magazine deal in the pipeline, the 73-year-old actor was happy to take to Twitter to share the good news.
He posted a photo of him and his bride in a ball pit–a nod to his profile photo–simply declaring:
Yes, married.
It’s the Star Trek star’s third marriage, but the only one officiated by Gandalf.
Minister McKellen also joined in with the social media announcements, posting a photo of him on Facebook with his Doctor of Divinity certificate and a black minister t-shirt.
McKellen had previously revealed his plan to marry his friend, telling Jonathan Ross earlier this year
I’m going to marry Patrick. I am going to officiate at his wedding.
When asked by Ross about the legality of that, Sir Ian noted that:
In Massachusetts, we’re in the middle of America somewhere, you get anybody along, a friend, and I read out the words, and Sunny and Patrick will then be married. I declare you man and wife.
