FORMER REPUBLIC OF Ireland footballer ‘Oooh Ah’ Paul McGrath was on The Ray D’Arcy Show last night.
(He has no idea where that chant came from, for your information).
Paul regaled his career highs and lows to host Ray on the 20th anniversary of his retirement from professional. As well as that, he kept us the tradition of speaking extremely candidly about his alcoholism:
I went from being really shy to annoying every policeman … It didn’t feel good.”
To mark the occasion, he got a cute video message from BFF Bono, as well as his sons joining him on the couch to discuss his legacy.
Son Mitch explained how Paul always took the time to stop and speak to fans looking for autographs.
He played with his heart and he gave it his all … He never left anything in the dressing room. He always left it on the pitch.”
Wholesome. But not as wholesome as Paul being surprised by three of his grandchildren.
Grandson Josh admitted he has a poster of his granddad in his room, but it was Talia who stole the show when she told Ray that Paul was her favourite person in the whole world.
He’s her favourite person in the world because “he always plays little games” with her. Awwwwwwww!
