Pete Davidson made a joke about the Manchester attacks that Ariana Grande didn't find funny

The comedian made the joke before the pair started dating.

PETE DAVIDSON LEARNED this week that, similar to an elephant, the internet never forgets.

It’s been revealed that the Saturday Night Live comedian made a joke about last year’s Manchester Arena bombing, when his now-fiancé Ariana Grande’s concert was targeted by terrorists. The attack left 22 people dead.

The Mirror reports that Davidson made the joke at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles five months after the May 22, 2017 blast, quipping that she must have realised how famous she had become because “Britney Spears didn’t have a terrorist attack at her concert”.

Now, Grande has had her say on the controversy.

In response to one user who said Grande should break up with her fiancé over the insensitive remark, she wrote:

This has been v tough & conflicting on my heart. he uses comedy to help ppl feel better ab how f-ed up things in this world are. we all deal w trauma differently. I of course didn’t find it funny. it was months ago & his intention wasn’t/ is never malicious but it was unfortunate.”

She added, “I hear and respect you all always.”

Recently, Grande got ’8418′ tattooed on the top of her foot—the badge number of Pete’s dad, New York City firefighter Scott Davidson, who died in the 9/11 terror attacks.

Davidson proposed to Grande in June after a few weeks of dating.
