Internet bids an emotional farewell as Phantom FM ceases broadcasting

The station will close at midnight tonight.

TODAY MARKS THE final day of broadcasting for Phantom 105.2.

The radio station started as the pirate Phantom FM in 1996 and at midnight tonight will cease to exist – it’s being rebranded as TFXM by Communicorp.

Since the news was announced there has been an outpouring of goodwill towards the station, its staff, its music and its memories.

With most of the Phantom staff being let go, this week presenters have been wrapping up their final shows on the station.
