FILE UNDER ‘WHY’. When you open the lid of your coffee in the morning, what is it missing? A sprinkle of chocolate? A bit of cream? Wrong. The answer is your FACE.

Coffee chain Let’s Cafe in Taiwan are getting creative with their caffeine, by printing photos on the foam.

The bizarre service was first unveiled to celebrate the Chinese equivalent of Valentine’s Day by allowing couples to share a beverage with their smug mushes on it.

First they take your photo.

Then it’s printed using edible brown powder with a special latte printer that only takes 5 minutes.

Voilà. Enjoy with a loved one to redefine ‘sucking face’.

Kao Hui-yuan, pictured here with her boyfriend, says that

When I drank it, I felt warmth in my heart.

That’ll be the hot coffee.

Lonely singletons need not despair. The service has now been adapted to include those who snap selfies on their phone while waiting in line. Just send it to the machine and your friendly barista can put it directly on to your coffee.

You can even get one made with your cat to completely break irony forever.
