THERE’S GRAND DRYING out, so imagine your disdain if police told you you couldn’t hang your underwear out.
That’s exactly what’s happening in Lancaster. After a number of thefts of women’s underwear in the area over the last few months, officers from the Primrose and Bowerham areas have been conducting enquires into the thefts.
PC Gill Syer of Lancaster Police told the Lancaster Guardian that:
This may seem like a joke to some people but can be very worrying for those involved. I would urge people, despite the good weather, to keep their washing lines free from underwear so there is little opportunity for the perpetrator to continue this crime.
How could they? Is nothing sacred?
