ON THE SURFACE, the characters of Pat Mustard and Postman Pat have little in common.
Sure, they deliver necessary goods on a daily basis in fictional worlds but that should be where the comparison ends.
But Irish Twitter user @AnDuinnineach has stumbled upon a massive similarity that has passed us all by:

I think that you would need proof if you were going to make that sort of an accusation.
The photographic evidence is damning – here, Pat with his distinctive red locks
And the schoolchildren of Greendale
All of whom share that exact same red hair
Good man Pat
No other main character in the show has that hair – LOOK at Jeff Pringle and his son Charlie
Could it be a coincidence that all the children happen to have no red-haired parents? Hardly.
The question was posed to Father Ted creator Graham Linehan… was Postman Pat the inspiration for Mustard?
No, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been up to the same shenanigans around town
