6 things to worry about as the PS4 launches in the US
THE EAGERLY ANTICIPATED Playstation 4 launched in America at 5am Irish time.
While the console has been received with glee by gamers across the US, and has been granted solid reviews from the likes of CNET and Endgadget, the launch hasn’t been without its worries…
1. They’re already running out
Earlier this week Amazon in the US released an image of the consoles in the warehouse waiting to be dispatched.
Rows and rows of delicious blue and white boxes teased those who had pre-ordered or planned to queue up to buy a machine at midnight.

Now however, it seems that retailers across the US are already worried about months of delays in getting consoles to eager gamers.
Mirror.co.uk reports that 1.5 million pre-orders have been placed worldwide.
2. There have already been some complaints
3. And some network problems for Sony
Some users have received error messages when attempting to log onto the Playstation Network through their new consoles.
Sony has said that “heavy traffic” was the cause for the problem, and asked users to “sit tight”.
3. Amazon in the UK said it can only deliver consoles ordered before 14 November in time for Christmas
In a posting on amazon.co.uk the online retailer notes that only consoles ordered on or before Wednesday will be delivered in time for Christmas.
Anyone who places an order with Amazon from now on will not receive their PS4 before 25 December.

Gamestop meanwhile states that:

5. This guy bought a PS4, and then smashed it with a baseball bat
Nope. Not a clue.
6. Playstation has so far dropped the ball on replying to this tweet from XBox
The Xbox One launches next week, but today the official Twitter account of the Microsoft console acknowledged the Sony launch.
At the time of publication, Playstation has yet to come up with a suitably cheeky response.
The PS4 will be available in Ireland on 29 November. If you’re lucky.
