NEW DUBLIN PUBS are popping up quicker than we can keep up. Why not hit them all in one quick pub crawl?
1. Start down the quays at the new mysterious pub, The Mission
Located on Ellis Street, a secretive new pub has taken over the old Croppy Acre premises. It’s owned by the lads from Dice Bar so the tunes are guaranteed to be good. Pick up a pint and a ham and cheese toastie to prepare for the long walk up the Quays.
2. Stroll up to The Ivy on Parliament Street
It’s not quite as posh as the London Ivy, but it looks the part. The cocktails here are excellent without being too fancy pants.
3. Take a walk down Dame Street and a right up to JT Pim’s
It’s taken over the site of Shebeen Chic at the top of Great George’s Street, and you definitely have to sample a gin and tonic in the cellar bar.
4. Then, take a short walk to Idlewild
This new bar is just a few doors up from George’s Street Arcade and are doing cocktails and craft beers.
You will NOT want to get off their massive sofas.
5. Head down to Clarendon Street to Bar Rua
Bye bye Clarendon Inn, hello Bar Rua. This joint sells itself as a modern take on a traditional Irish pub, and you definitely have to stop by for a pint in the outdoor area. It’s people-watching heaven.
6. Pose like a poseur at Farrier & Draper on South William Street
Oh you FANCY thing.
If you’re lucky enough to have a nice day, their terrace with a cocktail is your only man.
7. Finish off the crawl at Zozimus on Anne’s Lane
You made it, so treat yourself with an old fashioned from Zozimus. Just TRY to tell us you don’t feel all fancy.
