DON’T BOTHER MESSING with the ladies of Orange Is The New Black. They will call you out, as we see here.
Ahead of the third season premiering on Netflix, Natasha Lyonne (Nicky Nichols) and Samira Wiley (Poussey) did an interview with the Brazilian reporter and comedian Rafael Cortez.
He tried to ask them about having to act ‘ugly’ despite being pretty women in real life (or something to that effect), and it didn’t go down very well:
Two beautiful ladies like you, it’s very hard to do this acting… Because on those days, you have to be angry, furious, fighting with each other… Is that so hard?
It’s unclear whether Cortez is being serious, but Lyonne gives him an honest answer anyway.
Despite the great beauty on the show, everybody is professional and talented and very capable. So I don’t think anybody’s thinking about something as meaningless as their beauty when they’re at work, certainly not on this show.
