DailyEdge praises those who rocked the week in celebland, while keeping a watchful eye on those who should just log off forever.
Losers
Zigi
Well, this is an obvious one. The couple so famous, they had their own couple name.
Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid announced their split this week, and we’re heartbroken. For their inability to use the name Zigi ever again, we’re declaring them losers.
We hope they keep the Matrix revival up seperately.
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran got a BIT dragged this week by The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas. He was labelled a ‘boring suck up’ the week before, so he’s not having a good go of it.
Speaking to Vulture, Julian said:
I’m just saying I don’t understand why there can’t be a world where Ed Sheeran gets 60 percent of the attention and Ariel Pink gets 40 percent. Now it’s almost like Ed Sheeran gets 99.5 percent of it.
Julian went on to say that his success is a result of ‘cultural brainwashing’.
Don’t hold back.
Winners
Rihanna
Rihanna heard Snapchat’s apology, but she didn’t accept it. Snapchat came under fire earlier in the week when they showed an image of Chris Brown and Rihanna in an ad.
The ad was for an app called Would You Rather, and asked if the user would rather slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown.
The company apologised on Monday, saying: “The advert was reviewed and approved in error, as it violates our advertising guidelines”.
Rihanna’s Instagram story later in the week said different.
Emily Ratajkowski
Emily certainly knows how to make herself a name in Ireland. Constantly pander to our need for attention.
This week, she gave Bantry a little shout-out on Twitter after Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai after the Senior Boys basketball team won the All-Ireland.
Both of her grandparents are of course Irish, and her dad owns a holiday home in Bantry. Explains a lot.
Reese Witherspoon
We all saw the lovely moment when Reese was interviewed by a massive Legally Blonde fangirl. The reporter did her thesis on the movie, and finally had the chance to hand it to her idol. Reese’s response is one of genuine thanks. Love it.
