THE SIXTH SEASON of Game of Thrones is due to premiere on Sunday, April 24, sending the internet into spoiler hypervigilance once again.
The first episode of the season will be aired in the UK at the same time as it does in the States, meaning fans this side of the pond will have to stay up very late to tune in.
Rehabstudio, a tech company with offices in Belfast, London, New York and San Francisco, understands this and has ensured that employees in all timezones can get in on the action.
Earlier this week, the company posted a picture of a new contract to its Facebook page, with one very interesting clause:
All rehabstudio UK staff (London and Belfast offices) will also receive an additional half day (morning) holiday following the first episode of each new season of Game of Thrones when simulaunched with the US.
The first episode? But what about the others? How will they keep their UK employees happy and spoiler-free?
“US staff are reminded not to share spoilers on the intranet until after the show has aired in the UK 24 hours later.”
We assume there will be sanctions for anyone who dares break the rules. As it should be.
