One man outraged the entire country on last night's Room to Improve
WHAT ARE SUNDAY nights going to be like now?
Last night’s Room to Improve was the last of the series, and we saw superhero architect Dermot Bannon face off against a builder with ideas above his station and a race against time and money that stressed everyone out.
Meet the Cullens, looking to renovate their family home in Dundrum
Dermot has plenty of work on his hands – given the budget is tight and it all has to be finished before Caroline has their first baby in 12 weeks
Dermot called the project a “very regular house, on a very regular street in a very regular part of Ireland.”
Meow.
The builder this week was Jamie, and on the first day he had some constructive criticisms of Dermot’s design
Basically, he wanted to be the architect as well as the builder.
Dermot is used to builders having their say, but not completely changing it all up on the first day
Not happy.
Straight away, builder Jamie was putting people’s backs out
And the fact that Dermot was the good guy was worrying some
Whoops!

In fact, you felt like Jamie’s determination to be the centre of attention might stretch into other areas
We KNEW we recognised Jamie from somewhere

In general, Jamie got the thumbs down from the nation
And Dermot was finishing the series on a high note
Don’t worry, Dermot will be FINE.
And then, as always, everyone just started arguing about the small details
The windows, as always, were a source of concern – and this small frosted one at the top of the stairs was the centre of some heated debate
Whoops!

So, nobody but Dermot is a fan of the landing window.
The paneling out the back were questioned by all

Leonard was under constant pressure with the budget

The couple were very happy with the final result, though
Despite the landing window debacle.
But, on the last episode of the series, there was one person who stole the show
Where was Jamie for the last 20 minutes?
So, that’s it, no more #roomtoimprove on Sunday nights any more
We’ll be back. Just to reminisce about Jamie, really.
