SUNDAY NIGHT FEAR has truly returned, and with it the nation’s most recent incarnation of ‘fear telly’: Room To Improve.
Last night’s episode saw Dermot and co taking a trip to Puckane, in Co.Tipperary, where the task was to take a 1960s bungalow, and turn it into two houses.
You see, Mary, her son Darragh, Darragh’s partner Sarah, and their baby are all living under the same roof. Mary’s husband passed away a couple of years previously and Darragh wanted to be close to his mam. So they had been living in close quarters for a while.
Oh, and all three of them are teachers. Three teachers. A mother-in-law. A baby. All under one roof.
The plan was for Dermot to convert the house so that Mary would have her own self contained unit and have…
It didn’t take long to see how things were going…
It only took a few minutes for Sarah to clarify (with much gritting of teeth) that there were very few things that she and Mary saw eye to eye on.
She was also very keen to point out that while they’d all be essentially living together BUT SEPARATE.
SEPARATE. OKAY?
Poor old Dermot didn’t know where to look.
Twitter didn’t really warm to Sarah
Nope, wasn’t mad about her at all
No love lost for Sarah :/
Mary, on the other hand, had the nation behind her
Mary requested one thing. To stay on the church side of the house…
… but it didn’t happen.
And there were fears over where she would end up
But in the end, she was happy. TG.
All’s well that ends well.
