The new Rose of Tralee has everyone pretty much in love
AFTER TWO NIGHTS of loveliness, the Rose of Tralee for 2015 is…
Meath Rose Elysha Brennan!
The 22-year-old from Bettystown, Co. Meath beat 31 other competitors to be crowned Rose of Tralee. She is the first Meath Rose to win the title.
Brennan is currently studying medicine in RCSI and spoke frankly last night about being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma just weeks before her Leaving Cert began.
Fortunately, having gone through chemotherapy and radiotherapy, she has been in remission for the past two years.
She treated the audience to a rendition of The Bright Blue Rose by Mary Black and, on a lighter note, also revealed her fondness for The Late Late Show.
Following the announcement that she had won, Brennan was immediately surrounded by her fellow Roses and when she emerged, she was officially crowned.
As you can see, the crown fits perfectly and didn’t slide off even once. Totally meant to be.
Congratulations, Elysha!
