Boxes of Cadbury Roses and Heroes are getting smaller again this Christmas

Call the cavalry!

JUST ONE YEAR after the great Roses and Heroes scalp of 2014, your festive box of chocolates is getting another chop.

Cadbury Ireland has confirmed that this Christmas (sincere apologies for so many mentions of Christmas on 20 July) the tubs we know and love are shrinking.

Figures from The Grocer magazine put festive tubs of Roses at 729g this year – a drop from 785g, while Heroes will from 780g to 695g. The price will remain the same.

A Cadbury Ireland spokesperson told DailyEdge.ie:

A range of economic factors across the board has meant we’ve had to reduce the size of our tubs. By doing this we have been able to hold the product at the same price which we believe still offers an affordable gift for friends and family this Christmas.

This latest chop means that Roses will have dropped from 1.5kg in 2006 to 729g by Christmas 2015. Heroes have dropped from 950g in 2010 to 695g.

It’s not all bad news though, with Wispas being added to boxes of Heroes, and Roses will see the addition of an Almond Caramel Bite.
