The duck, created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hoffman, was on a multi-city tour of Taiwan. It’s 18 metres (59 feet) high – this photo gives an idea of its scale next to a person.

And yesterday, the duck suddenly burst.
It’s not clear what happened to the floating megaduck. According to some local media, one onlooker told reporters she saw an eagle attack the giant bird with its talons.
Another theory is that hot weather made the air inside the duck expand, leading to the explosion, CNN reports.
Let’s watch that fateful moment again:
RIP duck.
