Ron Weasley can actually sing and he's released a new single

Actor Rupert Grint needs to be put in a boyband, STAT.

WELL, THAT’S A new direction, Ron.

Rupert Grint, the red-haired Harry Potter star who plays the reliable side-kick sounds a bit like he could join One Direction on stage in Croker later on today.

The song, Lighting, was recorded for the new Postman Pat movie which Grint appears in as a talent show contestant competing against Pat.

He sounds like he’d fit in quite well in a boyband, but told the BBC that he’s convinced it isn’t actually him.

It is quite an easy, catchy song but I just did it because I thought it would be quite fun but they have obviously done some kind of auto-tuning.

We guess co-star Ronan Keating has been giving him a few vocal lessons.
