RUTH NEGGA WAS on Jimmy Fallon’s chat show last night, talking up the new season of her TV show, Preacher.
They were trying to have a conversation, but Ruth kept getting distracted by Jimmy’s new bit of facial fluff:
I can’t stop staring at your moustache. I love it! You look like a Irish politican from the 80s. I’m not sure how reassuring that is.
Who do you think she was talking about? Facial hair has always been in style in Irish politics, from Willie O’Dea’s ronnie to Gerry Adams’ luscious beard.
Given the timeframe, however, she could have been thinking of Dick Spring – former Labour politician, Tánaiste, and owner of a truly excellent name.
Look at him.
Now look at Jimmy.
Separated at birth?
Jimmy says he’s been growing the moustache just to change things up for the summer, but who really knows what he’s at. Maybe he’s been cast in an RTÉ political drama? You can’t hide from us, Fallon.
