‘SAD PAPAW’ (REAL name Kenneth Harmon) went viral earlier this month when his granddaughter Kelsey tweeted this picture of him eating a burger:

She told Buzzfeed at the time that he had made burgers and homemade ice cream for his six grandchildren, but she was the only one who showed up.

Well about 30 minutes pass and he decides he’ll just eat one. An hour goes by and nobody shows. I could tell he was disappointed, but I made sure to stick around and hang out with him. We had a really great time.

The original tweet was retweeted over 180,000 times, and the five absent grandchildren decided to organise a giant barbecue to make it up to him.

The barbecue finally happened on Saturday, and thousands of people came from far and wide taste one of Pawpaw’s now famous burgers.

There were ‘I ate a burger with Sad Papaw’ t-shirts and hats…

And people said the burgers were the best they’d ever had.

And Papaw? He’s not so sad any more. His daughter told Buzzfeed that despite everything, she’s never seen him happier.
