THE SALTY DOG stage is an Electric Picnic institution, and now you can enjoy it all year round.
The guys behind the stage are opening a brand new music venue in Rathmines, and it’s planning on bringing all the best bits of the festival, indoors.
It’s going in where the Toast used to be, and it sounds very promising indeed
The Salty Dog team tells us it’s all ready to go, and “if the sea is right”, will dock on September 9th. Just in time to end your first post-picnic work week.
They told DailyEdge.ie its ethos is very much like that of its EP namesake:
It’s all about good vibes, we’re focusing on good customer service and creating a family in the area.
The interior is based on an 18th century ship, and will be open seven nights a week.
It’s a music venue, but isn’t going to be a typical live music venue with acts you pay €20 in to see.
Instead, they’re going to host surprise acts on Friday and Saturday nights using musicians they’ve built up contact with from their EP roster. During the week, we’re looking at residencies and club nights.
The pub will also be an anchor tenant for the area’s upcoming Canalaphonic festival, with loads of big acts promised on their stage.
Until then, we have the stage in EP, which announced its full line up today.
