Selfies will wreck your life, according to science

Well if science says it…

SCIENTISTS AT THE University of Birmingham, University West of England, the University of Edinburgh are all in agreement–selfies ruin lives.

Next time you raise that phone and switch to camera mode, think about how it’s going to RUIN your LIFE.

The selfie study found that constant publishing of your moby portraits can lead to a fall in intimacy within your relationships.

The simple logic of it all is that all the information we put online can be viewed by a range of different people in our lives. This includes our differing social circles such as family, friends, casual acquaintances and work colleagues.

You risk damaging some relationships as they all receive and view the information differently. So while your bff may love your 10 consecutive selfies on a night out, your boss might frown upon such behaviour.

Birmingham University’s Dr. David Houghton speaking to Phys.org, said;

This is because people, other than very close friends and relatives, don’t seem to relate well to those who constantly share photos of themselves.

It’s also worth noting that people prefer to see you share photos of family rather than friends, so maybe hop into a few photos with your granny for a change.

Dr. Ben Marder from the University of Edinburgh Business School offers the following advice:

My advice for people sharing photos or links with a fan site is think twice and share once. Be cautious when sharing and think how it will be perceived by all the others who may see it. Although sharing is a great way to better relationships it can also damage them.

That told you.
