Selena Gomez is a bit peeved off over a recent interview she did for focusing on Demi Lovato's overdose

“I’m a bit bummed but rarely surprised.”

SELENA GOMEZ IS not a happy camper following a recent sit-down with Elle magazine.

The singer has been enjoying some time away from the spotlight, much to the chagrin of every entertainment outlet desperate for a shady statement in reference to ex boyfriend’s Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s engagement.

During this time, she’s deleted all the apps on her phone (bar a brain game called ‘Peak’) and been doing lots of charity work with A21.

However, Gomez seems to think that certain aspects of her personal life were honed in, instead of her humanitarian work.

In a lengthy Instagram post, the ‘Hands To Myself’ singer said she was “bummed” about the interview in which the magazine said she “broke her silence” on childhood friend Demi Lovato’s recent drug overdose.

When asked about the incident, Gomez said:  “All I’m saying is, I reached out personally. I didn’t do a public thing. I didn’t want to. I … I love her. I’ve known her since I was seven. So … it’s … that’s what I’ll say.”

Captioning a series of photos and videos from her recent work with the anti-human trafficking charity and her campaign with Coach, she said:

Alright. Speaking from my heart for over an hour to someone who puts those thoughts into paid words can be hard for me. The older I get the more I want my voice to be mine. This is all apart of my work within an industry that’s been around longer than all of us have been.
The purpose of my interview was three fold. My work with A21, my new collection with Coach, and some new music. As I’m aware there will always be interests in one’s personal life because that’s the pace of our ‘social’ generation.
I’m grateful for my position and I will always find ways to make my job more about others and giving back— all while having the best time with my music, fashion, film and my love for learning about the world that I’m eager to tap into more and more.”

Referring to the emphasis put on her faith, Gomez continued:

Church is a name for something far more personal. There’s always agenda seeking information on such a subject and I understand why. Rarely do I mention church (and I didn’t) , but I’ll always feel comfortable talking about my values and beliefs. I respect that from everyone and anyone.
I understand that reporters are working to grab the attention of a reader, however I will always work to ensure that what is public represents my truth. I’m a bit bummed but rarely surprised.”
