This teen was sent home from her job because her shorts were too short... but there's a catch

Well that backfired.

A SHOP ASSISTANT in the States has taken to Twitter to call out the clothes shop on their hypocrisy.

The teenager from South Dakota, Sylva Stoel, was sent home from her JC Penney job as her shorts were judged by her manager to be too short.

But there’s a catch. Stoel claims she bought the shorts from the JC Penney career section.

[Opening strains of Ironic]

Sylva clearly does not give one single bother, posing for her Twitter photos with one clearly flipped bird.

But is she going back? You bet your ass she isn’t.

In a statement, JC Penney said shorts are outright prohibited, so there’s nothing new here.

JCPenney’s dress code policy for store associates prohibits the wearing of shorts of any length. This policy applies to both male and female associates. We have reached out to the associate who blogged about this policy, but she has not returned our telephone calls thus far.

Sylva herself told People.com that she had never heard the rule before, saying:

I never even got a handbook or anything. The manager was asked, and she said, no tank tops, spaghetti straps, absolutely no denim, and no T-shirts. And when asked for clarification she said, nothing that you’re falling out of.

Either way, Sylva’s message is clear.
