Siobhan McSweeney AKA Sister Michael isn't sure if a Derry Girls spin-off would work

Don’t go getting your hopes up.

DERRY GIRLS SEASON two isn’t even two episodes in yet and fans are already wild for more.

From Clare’s, eh, near-death experience to the now infamous blackboard from the last episode (where do you keep your toaster?), people are already giddy over the prospect of future series, and even spin-offs.

One such character people are gunning for? Sister Michael, of course.

Has anyone witnessed an eye roll as iconic since Cher in Clueless? Doubtful, TBH.

Anyway, given the love that people have for her on social media, you’d be forgiven for speculating about a potential spin-off in the future centering around the Teacher of the Year.

Well, speaking on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show on TodayFm this morning, Siobhan McSweeney, the woman behind the habit, might just have scuppered some fans’ hopes.

“Get on to Lisa [McGee, Derry Girls creator] about it, I’m quite busy at the moment,” she laughed when asked about a potential follow-up show.

“I don’t see it. I think she, like everybody, every character, exists so fully and truly in that particular environment.

Where would she travel to? I think she’s very much a character of her situation.”

Sure listen, where there’s a will with Sister Michael, there’s a way.
