Sky News gets politician's name wrong in interview, extreme awkwardness ensues

The President of Estonia refused to continue the interview.

THIS MORNING, SKY News’ Dermot Murnaghan was introducing the President of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, when he committed the fatal mistake: he got his name wrong.

Murnaghan incorrectly introduced the President as “President Hendrik” instead of President Ilves.

President Ilves refused to continue the interview, ripped out his earpiece and could be heard muttering, “Get my name right.”

It’s exactly as awkward as you’d expect.
