This Dublin auld lad's brutally honest opinion on St Patrick's Day is brilliant

The nation has fallen in love.

ON YESTERDAY’S MIDDAY show on TV3, they did a few vox pops around Dublin to try and capture the mood of the city coming up to Paddy’s Day.

And one gentleman they spoke to had a pretty cynical and hilarious take on the big day:

I’ll stay in the garden with me dog. I think it’s the greatest load of ponce and wonce.

All these Americans love Ireland? They do in my *extended beep*. I’m tellin’ ya! I hate it!

He’s been welcomed into the hearts of a nation though – as proven by the fact that the Midday Facebook video has been seen over 300,000 times in less than 24 hours.

He won’t be leading the parade, anyway.
