WATCH: Stephen Colbert and Hugh Laurie read dirty words together

Contains NSFW language, of course.

STEPHEN COLBERT’S TELEVISION programme airs on a channel which is part of a basic cable package in the US.

That essentially means that it’s not one of the channels you automatically receive, not like an RTE or TV3 for example, but if you pay for a basic television service you get it.  Something like your basic UPC package, for example.

Channels on the basic cable service have looser restrictions than those that are provided automatically, therefore they can be a little bit baulder than Fox, ABC, CBS and NBC.

Now, however, the four networks are seeking to have the rules that require them to use clean language and stay away from sexy programmes loosened.

Stephen Colbert is not about to let that happen without a fight.

How is he going into battle?  By saying dirty words with über posh actor Hugh Laurie, of course!
