THESE DAYS, WE all know Steven Spielberg as a superstar director. He’s the man behind films like Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan, and there is no question of his skill.
However, things were not always so rosy for poor Steven, in fact, in 1976 he suffered a brutal rejection at the hand of that year’s Oscar nominations.
This video shows Steven and friends watching the nominations live. At the start, he is supremely confident in the fact that Jaws is about to be nominated in 11 categories. ’A sweep!’ he proclaims.
Alas, it doesn’t go that way.
‘I’m going to Palm Springs!’
