Strabane is really getting into the Christmas spirit (NSFW)

Yeah, someone’s not really feeling the festive spirit.

According to a tweet sent to Strabane Weekly News journalist Ciara Maguire, the graffiti is in the Ballycolman area of the town.

It is now being shared all over Ireland, in multiple tweets and at the top of Reddit Ireland.

But perhaps the most bizarre element of this story? The graffiti is actually a copy of a similar one in Glasgow, which has been there since at least 2011 - making it perhaps the weirdest Christmas meme of the season.

Three questions for the artist:

The original graffiti read “Xmas sucks balls”, which is at least a legitimate insult. This just says “Xmas IS balls”. What? Why?
The Santa bit seems unnecessarily personal, doesn’t it?
Please explain the connection to the IRA.
