He casually posted it to Facebook, with the caption:

I shopped at Publix tonight at Ormond Towne Square and saw this random act of kindness by a Publix employee. I took it quickly and I found out the employee’s name later from his manager. An old man could not reach down to tie his shoe so not only did Gage tie the one but he did the other as well; all with a smile. I thought he should be recognized for his actions.

The post quickly started going viral, and currently stands at 11,677 likes, 2,524 shares, and thousands of comments praising the Publix worker for his small deed. All this from a guy with 486 Facebook friends.

Local news station FOX8 even tracked the employee down, after the massive influx of admiring comments.

The man in question, Gage Boucher, told them he thought his behaviour was “common” and hopes to inspire others to do the same.

Just do it. Start being kind and if you see somebody needs help, just help them out.
