TAYLOR SWIFT HAS written a brief but touching blogpost about her mother’s recent diagnosis with cancer.

The singer has revealed that her mother went for some tests around Christmas after some nagging from her daughter and while “there were no red flags and she felt perfectly fine” she has been diagnosed with the illness.

While Swift is keeping the specific details of the diagnosis private, she’s urged people to ask their loved ones to get checked:

She wanted you to know because your parents may be too busy juggling everything they’ve got going on to go to the doctor, and maybe you reminding them to go get checked for cancer could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle.

Taylor Swift is about to embark on a massive world tour in support of her 1989 album, kicking off in Japan on 5 May and finishing in Florida on 31 October.
