TD gives heart-warming response when asked if he'll marry his partner
AS ONE OF the few openly gay TDs in Ireland, Jerry Buttimer has been a prominent campaigner and supporter of the same-sex marriage referendum.
He’s expected to play a central role in the Fine Gael campaign for a Yes vote on 22 May.
So, when he came into TheJournal.ie earlier this week he passionately outlined the case for the referendum passing, insisting those on the fence “have nothing to fear”:
We also asked Buttimer if he intended to marry his long-term partner if the referendum is passed.
