Man accidentally texts police about drug deal, gets arrested
A MAN HAS been arrested after accidentally texting a police officer about an upcoming drug deal.
The problems started for Nicholas Delear of New Jersey when a detective in the state got a new mobile phone. Shortly afterward, the detective received a text suggesting he meet Delear at a pizza place to buy a quarter pound of marijuana.
An undercover officer was sent to the deal, but Delear fled when he became suspicious.
Police soon stopped his vehicle, but the 33-year-old refused to consent to his vehicle being searched.
Authorities obtained a warrant after a police dog detected drugs in the vehicle. They found four plastic bags containing marijuana and other paraphernalia.
Delear now faces charges.
